Directions

from KREMS:
  1. Highway B37 in the direction of Zwettl, past Gföhl, first left after 3 bridges near Wegweiser in the direction of Lichtenau, 30 km.
  2. beautiful scenery through Senftenberg-Kremstal, 25 km
from HORN: through Gföhl or Rastenfeld (both 40 km)
from LINZ, AMSTETTEN:
  1. through Krems or St. Pölten - KS (A1- S33),
  2. through Ybbs - Ottenschlag - before Lugendorf turn right in the direction of Gföhl (60 km from Ybbs)
  3. Wachau : Melk - Spitz - Mühldorf 3x right Oberranna - in Himberg left, first right - Gschwendt - Els - Albrechtsberg - Lichtenau.
  4. short but curvy : Melk - Weissenkirchen - through the village (don't turn beforehand) in the direction of Weinzierl, there, right - Nöhagen - Untermeisling.- Loiwein - Lichtenau.
  5. the shortest but most adventuresome: Melk - Spitz through the village - Mieslingtal - Habruck - Grossheinrichschlag - Els - Albrechtsberg (40 km, 50 min. from Melk) - Lichtenau.
from FREISTADT: through Zwettl in the direction of Krems, 15 km after Zwettl at Marbach turn right (90 km)
from KÖNIGSWIESEN: through Bärnkopf - Ottenschlag - Lichtenau.
from WIEN:
  1. through Stockerau - Krems - Gföhl - Lichtenau.
  2. through St. Pölten - Krems - Gföhl - Lichtenau (A1- S33, each about 100 km)
  3. by train to Krems, then with the Bus.
